Gilad Shalit meets with his family after five years

 

PM Netanyahu: "I brought you the boy home."

Coming down from the helicopter in Tel Nof base, soon after moved to Israel from Egypt, Gilad was greeted by the prime minister, defense minister and chief of staff.

Tears of joy in the Shalit family: After this morning (Tuesday) released from Hamas captivity, 1941 days after the abduction, and was transferred to Israel via Egypt, met at noon for the first time his parents Noam and Aviva, his brother Joel, his sister Hadas and grandfather Tzvi.

When he descended from the helicopter, Shalit was greeted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Ehud Barak and Chief of Staff Benny Gantz.

"Hello Gilad, welcome back to Israel," Netanyahu said, "Good to see you home." Gilad saluted Mr. Netanyahu to Shalit's parents Mr. Netanyahu said: "I brought you the boy home."
Mr. Netanyahu, in briefing for journalists, said that Shalit's return was complex missions'.

Mr. Netanyahu: "I did not want Gilad to be another Ron Arad."
